What is a Sotdae (솟대)?
A Sotdae (솟대) is a traditional Korean totem pole, typically made of wood and topped with a carved bird. It was traditionally placed at the entrance of villages or homes to ward off evil spirits, invite good luck, and symbolize hopes for peace and prosperity.
