267 Waterkloof Road, Brooklyn, Pretoria
The Korean Cultural Centre in South Africa (KCCSA) is thrilled to announce an upcoming special workshop on TRADITIONAL KOREAN DANCE next month!
Led by a master from Korea's prestigious National Gugak Center, this two-week workshop will introduce participants to the quintessential Korean dance form known as "sogo (small-drum) dance."
To conclude this memorable workshop, a special showcase featuring performances by participants alongside the Korean master will be held on 20 July.
What is SOGO?
Sogo literally means small drum—it is a double-headed hand-held drum played with a beater. Like many drums, it is decorated with a taegeuk, a tri-color roundel symbolizing yin-yang. Sogo are found in popular music where the players march and dance.
