How have history, division, geography, and rapid modernisation shaped Korea as we know it today?
Continuing the K-Identity 2026 programme, Module 2 explores key moments, landscapes, and historical experiences that continue to shape Korean society and national identity. Through a combination of self-paced online learning and an in-person session, participants will engage with Korea’s historical development, cultural memory, geography, and contemporary transformation from multiple perspectives.
This module also includes an optional screening of Ode to My Father (2014), one of Korea’s most iconic historical dramas, offering a moving reflection on modern Korean history through the life of one ordinary man.
