The Johannesburg Korean Association's Hangawi Festival is held in conjunction with the Travelling Korea event and offers various Korean culture experiences and food markets.

Hangawi, also known as Chuseok, is one of Korea's most celebrated traditional holidays, often referred to as the "Korean Thanksgiving." It marks a time of giving thanks for the harvest and honoring ancestors. During Hangawi, families gather to share a feast of traditional foods, and participate in cultural activities such as traditional games and dance. The holiday embodies the spirit of togetherness, gratitude, and cultural heritage, making it a cherished time for Koreans around the world.
