K-CINEMA CLUB: Actors in Question

  • Post Date30.04.2026

Three Arresting Performances.

Three Unsettling Questions.

Three award-winning performances confronting grief, love, and belonging — and the questions that follow.

K-Cinema Club returns this May!

Join us for a new series of films led by three powerful performances that stay long after the credits roll.

In this edition of K-Cinema Club, Actors in Question brings together three award-winning performances shaped by questions that linger.

From grief and faith, to love and self-reflection, to the fragile making of family, these films move beyond narrative to confront questions that resist easy answers. Each performance does more than inhabit a character — it draws us into moments where feeling, belief, and belonging are tested, and where we are left to consider what remains.

Don’t miss the chance to immerse yourself in these powerful performances — and the questions they leave you with.

Secret Sunshine | 2007 | 2h 22m

Can faith offer refuge in the face of utter devastation?

Who can be forgiven, and redeemed?

After her husband’s death, Shin-ae moves with her young son to his hometown of Miryang, hoping to begin a new life. As she struggles to settle into an unfamiliar and quietly isolating environment, an unexpected tragedy upends everything, pushing her toward faith and forcing her to confront its limits.

On the Beach at Night Alone | 2017 | 1h 41m

What becomes clear after love passes, leaving us alone?

Following a relationship with a married man, actress Younghee steps away from her life and travels abroad. Spending her days in quiet reflection by the sea, she revisits the past, questioning her emotions and the choices that led her there.

Broker | 2022 | 2h 9m

Who is granted the right to claim a place in a family?

One night, a young mother leaves her baby at a church-run drop box. The child is taken in by two men operating an informal adoption network, who set out to find him a new family, setting off a journey that brings together a group of strangers with their own reasons for being there.
