CHUN HYANG
National Changgeuk Company of Korea | 2hr 18min | 28 AUG
Experience the romantic tale of Chun Hyang, a passionate woman who defies social constraints for love. This modern reinterpretation of Korea’s representative pansori* story blends traditional Korean sounds with Western instruments, creating a rich, contemporary performance.
*Pansori is a form of traditional Korean performing arts developed in the southern provinces of Jeolla after the middle period of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910).
SCENT OF INK
National Dance Company of Korea | 58min | 25 SEP
Inspired by the “Four Gracious Plants,” this performance portrays the spirit of Korean classical scholars through elegant choreography and simple, yet profound, artistic direction. A beautiful depiction of “movement in stillness.”
VIRTUOSO
National Orchestra of Korea | 1hr 37min | 30 OCT
Discover the dynamic power of Korean creative music with performances by virtuosos like classical guitarist Park Kyu-hee and gayageum player Ji Soon-ja. This event transcends time, space, and genres, showcasing both traditional and innovative musical pieces.
