How has Korean art evolved across tradition, history, and modern life?
Continuing the K-Identity 2026 programme, Module 5 turns to Korean fine art, exploring the ideas, aesthetics, and historical influences that have shaped Korea’s artistic traditions and their development over time. Through self-paced online learning and an in-person session, participants will discover how Korean artists have expressed changing ideas of beauty, identity, society, and everyday life through visual art.
From traditional artistic practices to the emergence of modern and contemporary Korean art, the module offers an opportunity to look beyond individual artworks and consider the wider cultural and historical contexts in which Korean art has developed.
