Continuing the K-Identity 2026 programme, Module 3 explores Korean food culture beyond the dishes themselves, examining the history, traditions, philosophy, and social values that have shaped the Korean table. 한복 뒤꽂이 워크숍
Create your own traditional Korean hair accessory at KCCSA! Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the beauty of the dwikkoji, a traditional Korean ornamental hairpin worn with hanbok. Combining elegance and craftsmanship, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of this timeless accessory while creating their own unique piece to take home. Whether you are interested in Korean traditional culture, design, or handmade crafts, this workshop offers a creative way to experience a small but beautiful part of Korea's cultural heritage. Dwikkoji Dwikkoji (뒤꽂이) is a traditional Korean ornamental hairpin worn with hanbok. Traditionally placed at the back of a hairstyle, it combines practicality with elegance and is often associated with beauty, refinement, and Korean craftsmanship. Today, the dwikkoji remains a beloved symbol of Korea's traditional aesthetic and cultural heritage. How have history, division, geography, and rapid modernisation shaped Korea as we know it today? Continuing the K-Identity 2026 programme, Module 2 explores key moments, landscapes, and historical experiences that continue to shape Korean society and national identity. Through a combination of self-paced online learning and an in-person session, participants will engage with Korea’s historical development, cultural memory, geography, and contemporary transformation from multiple perspectives. This module also includes an optional screening of Ode to My Father (2014), one of Korea’s most iconic historical dramas, offering a moving reflection on modern Korean history through the life of one ordinary man. KOREAN FAN DANCE 'Buchaechum' Buchaechum, or Korean fan dance, is a graceful and visually stunning traditional dance performed with large, colorful fans.
