Gunwoo PARK

Gunwoo Park began his musical journey at 16 and quickly rose to prominence, graduating as the top performer from Yonsei University in South Korea and later earning the highest honors at Folkwang Universität der Künste and Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in Germany. He made history as the first Korean cellist to reach the final along with a special jury prize at the prestigious Prague Spring International Music Competition. Park's international accolades include 1st place at the 2017 International Cello Competition in Italy, 2nd place at the Young Virtuosos International Music Competition in Bulgaria, and top prizes in several domestic competitions. Notable performances include collaborations with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra and appearances at major European and Asian venues. A recipient of scholarships from DAAD and other prestigious foundations, Park is recognized for his contributions to solo and chamber music and has been honored with the 33rd Music Journal Emerging Artist Award.
